Ms. Chatterbox - thanks for all your support and help, especially in the feedzone. Not sure how I feel about having 10 or so strangers yelling 'Go Sweetie' at the finish line .... perhaps you could have chosen the nickname the other woman wanted to use for her hubby ;-)

You did great on Saturday - maintained a high pace all the way around. I was proud of you for sticking it out. That is a hard race! I had fun lollygagging around the course and doing feed and cheering. It was a good day. And, I had my climbing legs back! Yay!

Todd - it was a great day, and a very nice training ride. Would have been better with some friends ....

Doc Kim - I will be taking it easy for almost two weeks; visit the in-laws, time with friends, and all that, then a crit and a circuit race to check in how things have recovered. And I did not notice the black eye when you were here a couple weeks back.

Chris - At this point I am playing out with probably 7-8 more races on the road bike, a combination of crits, a circuit race, and 2-3 road races. But I will be doing at least 10-15 race days/nights at the track before fall. Then it will be time to assess what I think I might like to do next year. That is other than redeem myself at Pescadero.

Groover - my first inclination would be to blame food, but no one who ate the same things I did on Friday got ill. So must be a bug; I do not get nervous in that way. Next year I will focus on this one, among a few.

Any idea on what caused the upset tummy? Nerves? Something you ate? A bug?

I'm sure you would have been just fine in the bunch without the troubles the night before. So imagine how you will hurt them next year with a good lead up to the race! :-)

That's a bummer. I hope you can get the pain straightened out and still have a good season. Hitting the deck takes a long time to get over even if the scabs subside.

At least you got a nice day for the ride... Sometimes the legs have it, and sometimes they don't! I've been having fun on the group ride/'races' as of late, and having a total blast...Low pressure, tons of fun, and my legs have their jump back :). If only I didn't have a permanent black eye (from that crash over a month ago....the spot is STILL there), I'd be feeling great!

At least we had a nice day to do a training ride. I can definitely think of worse things to do on a June morning.
