This S&S coupled custom touring bike was built for me by Jon Tallerico, a local framebuilder. The goal was to have a rugged, lugged steel bike that could serve a variety of touring roles. I have toured with front and rear panniers, rear panniers only, and just a Carradice Camper Long Flap saddlebag. One design element was to have a strong rear triangle for pulling a trailer. I have not toured with a trailer, yet, but have used a BOB Yak Plus for shopping expeditions. The bike sees occasional use as a commuter, also, though my 1988 Trek 400T does most of that duty. As of Summer 2005 this bike has been used on tour in the United States, Italy, Switzerland, France, and Spain; quite a bit of travelling for a bike that is less than two years old!
